In 2023, Holding Time was shortlisted in the Public Health category of the Royal College of Midwives Awards. The shortlisted entry was credited to the Community Engagement and Social Prescribing Team, NHS Cheshire and Merseyside Local Maternity and Neonatal System – Improving Me for the Holding Time project. The winner, Susan McAuliffe of Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust, was announced at the awards ceremony on 19 May 2023.
The Holding Time Project was shortlisted for the 2023 Royal College of Midwives Public Health Award as part of NHS Cheshire and Merseyside’s Improving Me programme. The nomination recognised the Community Engagement and Social Prescribing Team for its work using creative health, storytelling and lived maternal experience to support breastfeeding, maternal wellbeing and public health. The shortlist placed Holding Time among five leading initiatives from across the UK.
The shortlist provided significant professional recognition for Holding Time within the maternity sector. As the page notes, the project was recognised by the Royal College of Midwives despite Lisa Creagh not being an RCM member, highlighting the value of the work beyond the arts sector and positioning it within professional maternity, public health and social prescribing practice.
