In 2018, Holding Time partnered with ONCA Gallery in Brighton to test the idea of a Breastfeeding Hub—a welcoming space for mothers’ voices, interviews, and conversations about the cultural and structural barriers to breastfeeding.
The exhibition featured a slideshow of mother interviews, a workshop, and a public dialogue between artist Lisa Creagh and writer Lucila Newell exploring the intersections of time, motherhood, and maternal experience.
This event marked a significant step in the Holding Time journey, combining art, advocacy, and community to highlight the realities of infant feeding and spark meaningful conversation about how society can better support new mothers.

ONCA Gallery was an opportunity to test out the idea of a Breastfeeding Hub, to gather together voices, show the mother interviews and start a conversation about the structural and cultural barriers to breastfeeding. This exhibition also featured a workshop and a conversation with Lucila Newell, Academic, Mentor and Writer of several BLOG posts for the website.
